At Joseph Lawrence we can handle all the issues involved in the building industry and the complications of the CIS tax laws. Contractor or Subcontractor? We can lead you painlessly through the minefield of regulations.
The construction industry has its own unique set of rules (introduced in April 2007) that you have to adhere to if you don’t want to pay hefty fines to HM Revenue and Customs.
If you are working as a subcontractor you need to be registered or else pay 30% tax. If you are a contractor and have self-employed sub-contractors, you will need to submit monthly returns and make monthly payments of tax deducted. Failure to do so will attract a penalty of £100 with an increasing sliding scale.
Don't agonise! - we can help you through it!
At Joseph Lawrence we can help with individual elements of the scheme or, for contractors, we can administer the whole scheme from the taking on of a new subcontractor to the submission of monthly returns.
